cover up tattoo

So the nineties were awesome, but not everyone got tattoos that they want to keep now, and Katrina came to me to help her out. Her tribal armband had faded and didn’t really represent her any more, she wanted something to fill up her arm a little better, a lot of arm bands cut into the shape of your upper arm and make it hard to add a bigger piece with out going around it or covering it up. So I got rid of the tattoo for her and the design did not have to suffer for it. I told her it would work as long as the heart was big. I know its hard to tell how the process since it’s the befor photo and then the finished product but what I did was cover up the tribal with the black and purple roses going through the sacred heart. It still sticks to the original idea and she got exactly what she was looking for. We did this tattoo in 2 session, the last one was all the color which took about 4 hours. By the end it was really hard to tell that it was a cover up since colors are always the brightest when you first get tattooed it might need a touch up as it settles in over the existing tattoo, this photo is really what the final product looked like.
